The Lutz Auto Toyota/Lexus Coolant Alarm works with select Toyota and Lexus vehicles that use Toyota/Lexus part # 83420-16040 for the gauge sensor. This alarm provides an audible alert if your engine begins to overheat, activating at approximately 220-225°F. It's a perfect addition for vehicles from the 90s and early 2000s that lack an overheating indicator beyond the factory temperature gauge.

Calibration Procedure:
After installation, temporarily disconnect the coolant gauge sensor in the engine bay.
With the key in the on position, hold the calibration button on the coolant alarm for 5 seconds. The alarm will beep 3 times to signal that calibration is complete. Reconnect the coolant gauge sensor.
 
Installation Notes:
Generic instructions are based on a 1993-1997 80 series Land Cruiser.
Other vehicles will require locating the ignition 12V+, ground, and signal studs on the rear of the gauge cluster behind the coolant gauge.
A multimeter and knowledge of 12V electronics are recommended.
